If you download torrents, you’ll probably have been away from your computer when you come across a torrent that you want to download. If you use uTorrent (you can download it for free from www.utorrent.com), there is a way to start the torrent through Dropbox, so hopefully it will be downloaded by the time you get home.
First, create a folder such as ‘torrents’ in your Dropbox.
Then open up uTorrent (on PC, Mac or Linux), load up the Preferences menu (in the Options menu on a PC) and check the ‘Automatically load .torrents from:’ box. I recommend selecting the Delete loaded .torrents box too, if you don’t need to keep the torrent file.
As long as your computer is switched on and connected to the internet, just copying a .torrent file into your Dropbox torrents folder from anywhere will start the download straight away. Neat!
[It goes without saying that I recommend doing this with legally obtained files only.]
